How to Create A Business Blog That Generates High Conversion Rates

When we onboard a client that is also interested in improving search results, one of the first things we look for is whether or not they have a business blog. If they do have a blog, we determine whether or not it is effective at capturing audience attention while using important keywords and phrases.

A blog is one of the best ways to increase your rankings. After all, it offers relevant information to your customers, and it ensures that you can have a high volume of keywords spread across each SEO blog without stuffing them in.

Here are the basics of how to write a blog that generates high conversion rates and uses SEO effectively:

Understand Your Audience

Before you begin your blog, you must understand your audience. It is not enough to have a casual understanding of the type of person buying your products or services. You need to know what pain points they have.

For instance, what needs and challenges do they face? What about those draw them to your product or service?

Based on this, begin to think about what kind of topics your audience might be searching for. If you are a real estate agent, your blog may feature some of the first-time buyer mistakes, the reasons someone might choose one area over another, etc.

When you understand what your audience needs, you can provide them with the content they want to see.

Decide On Which Platform to Use

There are a host of different blogging platforms on the market. One of the most popular is WordPress, but there are others.

Additionally, there are often blogs that are already integrated with the website you are using. For instance, for this website we use Squarespace, which has a blogging platform built-in.

Wix, Weebly, Drupal, Joomla, etc., are all other platforms that provide similar features. Deciding what blogging platform to use is a personal choice, but you need to know how to use it and get the best results.

Suppose you don’t have a website already. In that case, if available, I recommend using a trial to familiarize yourself with the platform and determine whether it is the right fit for your needs.

If you have a website, you can typically integrate your blog through a third-party site or website application. Either way, ensure that the blog sits on your domain so that you are not sending traffic to the wrong place! You want your company’s website to increase its rankings.

Get to Writing!

How to use SEO in blog writing:

We have already gone over keywords, but you should make it a point to have a list handy. These keywords may change depending on your research, but it is always good to have a list on hand if you are short on time and need to come up with something quick.

When you determine what keywords you will incorporate and what your article will be about, you can get to writing!

Tips for writing a high-converting SEO blog:

  • Keep your post informal yet informational, as well as engaging. You want your audience to learn more about your chosen topic, but you want it to be still enjoyable and worth the read.

  • Include SEO keywords naturally throughout your blog. Mention the keyword more than once in your blog, but do not stuff it haphazardly.

  • Have a heading (h1), as well as at least two subheadings (h2).

  • Include visually captivating images that enhance the content.

  • Have a call to action that encourages readers to engage further.

If you feel overwhelmed with writing, you can take a break and try again.

Evaluate Your ROI

After you have a couple of blogs on your site, it is time to measure the results!

I recommend Google Analytics or one of the previously mentioned keyword analyzers (all of which can tell your site’s ranking) to determine how successful your blog is.

How a business blog can lead to a return on investment:

  • Has your ranking improved?

  • Are more people connecting with your site?

You can also distribute your blog posts to your social media channels and determine how successful each post is for those platforms. For instance, how many users comment on a Facebook post that links to the blog?

The most significant key performance indicator (KPI) is how many leads or sales you get from your efforts.
